Tom Homan, AOC and why censorship is the future
The “shitty people” are in control.

There’s a clip going around, thanks to the indefatigable Aaron Rupar, of a CNN interview with that White House putz, Stephen Miller. In it, Miller defends the president’s colonization of the federal bureaucracy.
That’s as much as you need to know in terms of the content of his remarks. You can see for yourself, but honestly, it’s hard to hear what he’s saying above how he’s saying it, which is VERY LOUD AND OUTRAGED THAT CNN WOULD DARE QUESTION DONALD TRUMP!
Aaron is right. “White nationalist men are too emotional to be in charge,” he said. First Amendment attorney Ken White is right, too. “Trumpists will continue to be furious at any dissent, no matter how much power they steal,” he said. “That’s because the administration is premised on pathological insecurity. They’re shitty people, they know it, and they will never stop resenting being seen as shitty people.”
I want to add my own comment, which is that this clip illustrates how Trump’s people don’t want to argue. They don’t want to debate. They don’t want to explain themselves. They don’t want to compete in the marketplace of ideas, because competition risks losing, and their stupid ideas can never lose, they are perfect and immortal, just ask them.
To spare themselves the humiliation of lesser mortals daring to question America’s god-emperor, they rig the rules, so only their voices are legitimate while everyone else must ask for permission to speak. To the rest of us, Stephen Miller is just being a titanic asshole, but to his own people, he’s speaking with the imprimatur of the Almighty.
These are shitty people, as Ken White said. They are the dumbest, greediest and laziest people you could possibly find. Their self-worth is so low that merely asking a question, as CNN anchor Brianna Keilar did, sends them into a fury. They don’t quite believe they are worthy, because they are not worthy – they are shitty people – but instead of changing themselves for the better, they force everyone else to change for the worse, because they are the dumbest, greediest and laziest people you could find. They don’t want to earn your respect. They want to steal it, because they believe your respect was theirs all along.
Dissent will not be tolerated. Censorship is the future of America.
Because the shitty people are in control.
It’s tempting to see someone like that White House putz Stephen Miller getting overly emotional over nothing at all and think that that’s a sign of weakness, perhaps that the Trump administration doesn’t quite know what it’s doing and is afraid of the public finding out.
That seems to be the view of New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. In reply to a video of Tom Homan, acting head of ICE, who was “stammering” in on Newsmax, she said: “This is why you fight these cowards. The moment you stand up to them, they crumble. Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights. He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else.”
As a representative of New York City, which has a high immigrant population, AOC has been hosting “know your rights” webinars for constituents who fear raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
In response, Homan went on Fox.
“Is [AOC’s webinar] impeding our law enforcement efforts?” he asked. “If so, what are we gonna do about it? Is she crossing the line? So, I’m working with the Department of Justice and finding out. Where is that line that they cross? So, maybe AOC’s gonna be in trouble now.”
On CNN, he suggested it might be illegal for a member of Congress to inform constituents of their rights. Later, Homan went back to Fox to confirm that he has been in touch with the Justice Department.
Then he went on Sean Hannity’s show to say: “We’re looking for that clear direction so we can start taking action on people that want to evade — who want to help educate these people to evade ICE.”
On Newsmax, he said AOC is “the dumbest congresswoman ever elected to Congress.” That’s when she replied: “This is why you fight these cowards. The moment you stand up to them, they crumble.”
Regarding Homan’s “crumble,” MSNBC’s Steve Benen seemed to agree.
“As much as Homan tried to engage in some on-air chest-thumping, he didn’t sound strong or tough during his flurry of media appearances,” Benen wrote Tuesday. “On the contrary, he sounded scared of a congresswoman educating the public about Civil Liberties 101.”
But he’s not scared. He’s shitty.
And he doesn’t have nothing.

Homan has the country’s biggest immigration police force as well as the blessing of a demented criminal president, who won on a promise of deporting millions of people, who enjoys legal immunity thanks to a corrupt Supreme Court, and who, today, referred to himself a king.
As Ken White said of that White House putz Stephen Miller, Homan is furious at AOC’s dissent due to the “pathological insecurity” that is a hallmark of the Trump administration. Homan is a shitty person, he knows it, and he will never stop resenting being seen as shitty person.
But while it’s tempting to see a shitty person who’s “stammering” on TV as if he were struggling to form a coherent argument that could effectively counter AOC’s, that doesn’t mean what it appears to. More than likely, it’s a warm-up for future plans, which is forcing AOC, and anyone who comes to the defense of immigrants, to shut up.
AOC will fight. Every patriot should. But let’s not be naive.
Dissent will not be tolerated. Censorship is the future.
Because the shitty people are in control.
