Matt Robison, host of “Beyond Politics,” interviewed last week the Editorial Board‘s Noah Berlatsky. They talked about Noah’s piece in which he said the president’s approval rating is low, despite the economy picking, because of covid pandemic. Here’s Noah:

This idea of an informed voter who’s really paying attention to everything that’s going on in the news and is balancing evidence and listening to multiple sources and then deciding, well, the president’s doing a good job or not — that’s not really how anything works. Most people are not political junkies and don’t pay much attention to politics. And so they don’t really know the nuances of messaging. I mean, they don’t know exactly what Biden is or isn’t doing. What they know in a sort of vague way is that the epidemic is still a problem.

Yeah, that sounds right to me. It’s getting worse, too.
