I wanted to send a thank you note to the readers and subscribers of the Editorial Board for making my recent vacation to Jamaica possible, but also for making everything else possible.

This newsletter is a one-man shop that’s funded entirely by people who care about democracy and the common good. I couldn’t do any of this without you. Thank you thank you and thank you.

It’s a gecko, but they call them croaking lizards. They make a fingernails-on-the-chalkboard sound.
Mango trees are a feature of life. This one was growing over a bookstore. A rooster was strutting.
This puppy is feral. Dogs roam Jamaica freely.
