You have probably heard about the exodus from the social media site formerly known as Twitter. Well, I’m a part on that. On Monday, I opened an account at Bluesky. Among all the alternatives to Twitter and Facebook, that one feels real and organic. I plan to spend more time there corresponding with readers and subscribers, hashing out new ideas and generally keeping folks informed about our politics. 

I encourage you to check it out and join me. It’s quick, easy and free. It took me a few minutes to set up an account on my computer, even less time downloading the app on my phone. The best thing is that there are no trolls. You won’t find ads for porn and crypto and gold. Twitter owner Elon Musk never intended to make money and it shows.

That said, I will continue to be present on Twitter for the time being. Lots of people still use it. I have blocked most of the fascists and bots. But as millions more people leave, it will get harder to maintain the firewall between sane and reasonable people of good faith, who often fiercely disagree, and the ghouls who just want to see the world burn. At some point, though I don’t know when, I’ll close up shop there.
