I think it’s worse in this case because the carrot was money Congress had already appropriated and was, therefore, already owed to Ukraine. It’s such an obvious violation of the constitution and the separation of powers that impeachment is an absolute MUST.
Nothing was “owed to Ukraine” so much as it was appropriated to Ukraine to help stave further Russian agression in a lawful and normal legislative process which the president decided to try to redistribute according to his personal whim.
Pile on as you please, JS. Any clarity, any time is much appreciated.
I thought they were loan guarantees, not loans or gifts.
John Lewis and the frosh, I’ve been waiting for this.
Don’t beat yourself up about being wrong. The person in the White House has been as slimy as any we’ve ever seen. Everything I think that he should be investigated, he slips out of it either by diversion tactics, pressure on somebody somewhere and of course, LYING. I also figured this would be the same thing. I’m happy to be wrong this time. Even now, I’m watching a republican senator declaring that this is still nothing.
