Looks like Jerry Nadler wanted to do it without looking like he was doing it, and from what I can tell, he succeeded. The Democratic chairman of the House Judiciary Committee announced today his panel would file suit to force the release of grand jury information from Robert Mueller’s investigation.
He did it on a Friday, and no one noticed.
Nadler isn’t calling it an impeachment inquiry, but this is the beginning of what would be an impeachment inquiry. That one isn’t the other may be a distinction without much difference.
Here’s what the Post’s Greg Sargent said after reading the suit:
The committee is formally considering whether to bring articles of impeachment.
Is that an “impeachment inquiry”? Sounds like one.
Around the same time, the 100th Democrat came out in favor of impeachment.
Don’t get excited. There are miles and miles to go, and we still don’t know how any of this will impact vulnerable Democrats in purple districts. But as I said in today’s edition of the Editorial Board, impeachment is only one way to hold a criminal president accountable to the people.
Justice is the point. How we get there is a question of means, not ends.

Pelosi wants to educate the public first.
Personally, I think every Democrat should be putting all their energy into GOTV and getting him out in 2020…. then charge him, lock him up and do Melania the favor! 😁
America and the world cannot wait that long.
